Project C-1 Construction Pictures - January 2015
Here you can see the contractor working to clear space along the inbound US 290 frontage road between Mason and Mueschke Roads. Later crews will put down temporary asphalt in that space, to which motorists will be moved while crews build a new inbound frontage road where they used to drive. Once the new frontage road is finished, motorists will be moved onto it.
Project E Construction Pictures - January 2015
At left, motorists drive along the new inbound US 290 frontage road between Huffmeister and SH 6. Previously there had been no inbound frontage road in this area, just a mainlane entrance and exit. At right, you can see columns for the new direct connector from northbound SH 6 to the inbound US 290 mainlanes. Once completed, this will allow motorists to make that movement without having to go through the traffic signal at inbound US 290 and SH 6.
Project F Construction Pictures - January 2015
These pictures show the contractor working on the inbound US 290 frontage road between West and Jones Roads. The inbound frontage road between Eldridge and West is now complete.
Project G Construction Pictures - January 2015
Crews have made much progress on the inbound US 290 Collector-Distributor ramp at Beltway 8. At left you can see it rising west of the Beltway 8 frontage roads, and at right you can see columns for the ramp east of those frontage roads. This ramp will allow motorists to enter and exit US 290 away from the mainlanes, improving mobility for all motorists in the area. The contractor will build an outbound US 290 Collector-Distributor ramp as well.
Project H Construction Pictures - January 2015
Both these images show progress the contactor is making on the outbound US 290 mainlane retaining wall just before Hollister.
Project I Construction Pictures - January 2015
On the left, the contractor breaks up a portion of the outbound US 290 mainlanes near Antoine Drive. At right, an excavator clears space along the outbound US 290 frontage road near Antoine. Crews will later lay temporary pavement in this space, move motorists onto it and then rebuild the outbound frontage road.
Project J-1 Construction Pictures - January 2015
Crews hung several beams this past month for the new direct connector from I-10 to outbound US 290, and the picture on the left shows some of those beams near US 290 and Dacoma. On the right are columns just west of there, which will have beams hung on them soon.
Project J-2 Construction Pictures - January 2015
These pictures show the contractor removing a portion of the outbound US 290 mainlanes near W. 34th Street. Once the old pavement is gone, crews can rebuild the new mainlanes in this area.
Project K Construction Pictures - January 2015
This image shows the middle of the I-610 West Loop. On the left, you can see the red taillights of motorists on southbound I-610, who have come from US 290. By spring 2015, it is anticipated they will move over to the new pavement on the right side of the picture, joining southbound I-610 motorists who came from the North Loop. In the center of the picture is where the contractor is working on the new northbound I-610 West Loop mainlanes.
