Project D Construction Pictures - August 2014
The left image shows traffic moving on the new Barker Cypress Bridge which opened ahead of schedule, a day before school began in the Cy-Fair Independent School District. On the right, crews work to clear space along the inbound US 290 frontage road near Spring Cypress. The contractor will put down temporary pavement in that space, where traffic will be moved while the new inbound frontage road is built.
Project E Construction Pictures - August 2014
These pictures show the contractor working on the outbound US 290 frontage road, just east of FM 1960. Once this work is complete, motorists will be moved onto the new pavement from the temporary pavement on which they’re driving now.
Project F Construction Pictures - August 2014
This image shows the nearly-completed inbound US 290 frontage road at West Road. By August 2014, the contractor was close to finishing the inbound frontage road work from Eldridge Parkway to Jones Road.
Project G Construction Pictures - August 2014
These pictures show the contractor making progress on the new Beltway 8 continuous southbound frontage road, which once complete will go over Hempstead Road and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. A new continuous northbound frontage road is being built as well, and both are anticipated to open before the end of 2014.
Project H Construction Pictures - August 2014
Crews work on the US 290 outbound mainlanes at W. Tidwell in these images. The contractor will build new roadway structure in the area being cleared on the right.
Project I Construction Pictures - August 2014
The contractor has begun work on the outbound US 290 frontage road; the left picture was taken at Bingle Road. On the right, crews continue their construction of the Pinemont Drive Bridge. Half of it is anticipated to open in fall 2014, with one lane eastbound and westbound as well as a bike lane on both sides.
Project J-1 Construction Pictures - August 2014
On the left, crews build a steel cage near Dacoma Street which will support a column for the new direct connector from I-10 to outbound US 290. The picture on the right shows columns for that direct connector going up near outbound US 290 and Mangum Road.
Project K Construction Pictures - August 2014
The image on the left shows progress the contractor has made on the I-610 North Loop mainlanes. The unfinished portion is over West and East T.C. Jester, and is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2014. On the right is a shot of the new I-610 southbound mainlanes at US 290. From these mainlanes, motorists can stay to the left to continue on I-610 southbound, or stay on the right to access the new direct connector to I-10. That direct connector is anticipated to open in October 2014.
