Barker Cypress Left Turn LaneBarker Cypress Loop Ramp

In May 2013 the contractor completed the Transportation System Management (TSM) project at the US 290/Barker Cypress intersection. Two new loop ramps will reduce congestion at the northside traffic signal by letting motorists bypass it. One ramp allows westbound US 290 frontage road motorists to directly access southbound Barker Cypress, and the other allows northbound Barker Cypress motorists to directly access the westbound US 290 frontage road.

New dedicated left-turn lanes will improve mobility on the Barker Cypress bridge by allowing motorists wanting to turn left the opportunity to do so from their own lane, instead of having to share a lane with other motorists wanting to continue northbound or southbound on Barker Cypress.
